I take 1mg of Ativan 4 times a day. I take it for anxiety and help with sleep. I do not feel addicted to it. I was at one point addicted to Vicodin, so I know what addition craving is like.
I find that when I do not take Ativan I do not "miss" it, but I do get cranky and I can't sleep.

My pharmacy filled my last prescription in 2 bottles,as they did not have the full amount.
When I ran out of the first bottle, I tried to find the second one, and could not. I had a refuill , but it was too early to use my insurance, so I asked the pharmacy to fill 20 nad I would pay cash, as I could not find the second bottle.

My doctor told me to never miss a dose.
Long story short, they told me they would have to fax the doctor to get permission for early refill, I said fine. I called back later nad they said they still had not heard. I called them the next day, they still had not heard. I called my doctor and left a message explaining my situation. I called the Pharmacy the next day and they dsaid it was not approved and I would have to wait until my insurance would pay.
Since it really wasn't bothering me, I thought I'd try Benydryl (sp) since it makes me sleepy.
About 5 days after no Ativan I was driving with my kids, and I had a siezure. I crashed my car, and mercifully I was the only one injured,I spent 11 hour in the ER.
They told me it was probably due to Ativan withdrawl. I have an appointment to see a neurologist.
I called my doctor and told them what happened. I was told that they had approved the refill the very first day they received the fax. In addition I was told that the pharmacy argued with the doctors receptionist, and wanted a new presscrition for the 20. The receptionist, told them to do a partial and they said they really did not like doing it.
In anycase I got more Ativan at the ER and a prescpition of 30 to get me throught until I see my doctor, tomorrow.
The pharmacy lied to me, and I feel like the whole ordeal could have been avoided.
Has anyone else ever had this happen? I am so afraid to drive, I can't tell you.
My Van was totaled, and I let the pharmacy know how mad I was. Now I am talking to a lawyer.
This really seemd wrong to me.
Please email me, if this has happened to you, I'd really appreciate talking to someone else about it, maybe I can ove****e my new fear of driving.

Thanks!
