I have membrainious glomurlonephritis and I am on 120mlg of preisone every other day. My only symptom of this is high protien levels. Spilling over 4 grams a day. I have been on this treatment for 5 months now, with no change in levels. All my other labs are fine. My question or should I say questions are.. 1st.. should these levels have gone down by now? 5 months seems along time for no change. Also I have pain in my back on both side but kind of in the mid back. My doctor says I would only have pain due to the kidneys if it were a stone or kidney failure. But I have had xrays and ulta sounds done and I have no stones and have no mussle pulls or stains or anything wrong with my back... Is it possiable that I would have pain even though there is no stone or kidney failure? Should I question this doctors abilities? Thank you IP: Logged |

I know very little about MGN or MPGN, but logically I can;t think of a reason that the almost microscopic tissue changes in these disorders would cause any pain. There are possibly changes to other tissues (a sort of fibrosis) and that might cause pain. Is this doctor a nephrologist or other specialist? IP: Logged |
