I just finished my 1st bottles of allergens and have started my 2nd bottles. I get 2 shots twice a week still (one for cats/mites, the other for grasses/trees/weeds) and feel worse than ever. The trees/weeds/grasses arm aches all over and my allergy symptoms are worse than ever (runny/itchy nose, cough-cough-cough, itchy/burning eyes, sinus headache, exhausted, and CRANKY definitely not good). The nurse says it's just a hyper-immune reaction to pollen and not to be concerned. To all of you who have gone through allergy shots, when did you start to feel better? Did you find this to be the typical course of allergy shots??? I've been on all the various antihistamines and nasal sprays but the past year they've given me a sinus headache from hell. Thus, I started the shots thinking it couldn't get much worse Any input will be very much appreciated. IP: Logged |

I'm into my shots for about a year now. AT first it was 2 shots once a week. I felt crappy for that day and the day after. But at about the 6th month when they changed the grass serum, I really reacted. My arm at the insertion point swelled up more than usual. SO they retested me and found that yes it was working but my body couldn't handle the multiple invasions so they scaled me back to just some of the allergens for now... and do the rest later. I'm not really reacting at all now. Feel a little stuffy the next day but that's not near as bad as it was before. You might want to insist on talking to your allergist about what's going on because you shouldn't feel that bad after these shots. I think the nurse is wrong and they need to scale it back a little bit. IP: Logged |
